Costumes made by my pupils for school plays.drawingladtprecTotally accidentally today I came across these photographs of some of the costumes that were designed and made in my classes when I was teaching in Stevenage. You wouldn’t know how much copydex has been used would you? The top one is Lady Precious Stream and for that we studied Japanese Kabuki, Indian Kathakali and Chinese opera costumes and masks plus face make up. The world of far eastern theatre is visually glorious. In those days in London they had a world theatre series and I was an avid theatre goer. The photo below is The Tempest. I can still remember the names of these girl actors! They will be grandmothers by now.drawingshakescost.jpg
